Ninety Upper Sixth students took part in a visit to the Houses of Parliament in January 2019, enjoying the chance to see the seat of UK power during a lull in the Brexit debates. We were lucky enough to sit in the gallery of both the House of Lords and the House of Commons while they were in session, and benefitted greatly from a workshop on the merits of different electoral systems. We are especially grateful that our MP, Sir Oliver Heald, was able to join us for an interesting Question & Answer session in which he gave us good insight into the life of a parliamentarian.
